How
to Read, Understand, and Fall in Love with Poetry
Come to this workshop led by Dan Simpson Sunday,
June 8th, 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at Lansdowne Public Library
55 S. Lansdowne Ave. Too many of us have come away from
studying poetry in school with the idea that you had
to be some kind of clairvoyant to understand it. We
got the sense that there existed only one correct interpretation,
and we would never find it. Come check out some poetry
with us, beginning with song lyrics, and see if you
don't find yourself relaxing into the world of words
and enjoying the playfulness of interpretation. . and
if you came to the last one, please come back; we'll
be looking at new poems and song lyrics. Admission is
free. RSVP preferred, but not required. If
you would like to take part in this workshop, please
contact Dan Simpson at dansimpson@comcast.net.

Concerts
at the Beach House:
Samantha Crain and the Midnight Shivers
Kate, Debra and Bob Beach present a house
concert series at their home in Lansdowne. On Thursday,
June 26th, enjoy Samantha Crain and the Midnight
Shivers. Sometimes music is a collision of opposites.
Realities clash and coexist, and the tension that results
is scary and strange, but undeniably beautiful. Maybe
that's why Samantha Crain and the Midnight Shivers embody
so many conflicting unities and clashing identities.
A $15 per person donation is requested, all of which
goes to the artists. Soft drinks are available and you
may bring your own beer, wine, etc. We also ask everyone
to bring a snack or other food to share. Reservations
are required. Please email to bob@bobbeach.net
